ABSOLUTISM IN FRANCE AND EASTERN EUROPE

In continental Europe, absolute monarchies reign supreme from France in the west to Russia in the east.  The power and prestige of these monarchies show the influence of single personalities and the aristocracy that supported them.  However, conflicts between these monarchies begin the shift in Euroepean society.
